IGO Promo made the strategic decision to migrate to Intershop CaaS, allowing them to leverage advanced B2B features in combination with Microsoft Azure’s powerful cloud infrastructure. This transition not only improves performance but also provides a flexible and future-proof e-commerce platform that is easy to maintain and scale.
During the migration, the existing architecture was thoroughly mapped and optimized. Legacy code on Java version (JDK7) was successfully upgraded, and the monolithic structure was replaced with a flexible microservices architecture. The product configurator was rebuilt, and tax rules were optimized with a more efficient surcharges approach. Additionally, digital assets are now securely stored through Azure Files and Azure Blob Storage, ensuring better manageability, scalability, and security for their e-commerce platform.
